Rebuilt slum-site

The Padua Charitable Fund (PCF) is my family's charity and we partnered with the shipping company Airlift Asia Inc. to rebuild a slum-site in Paranaque in Manila, Philippines. This new village is called GK El Dorado and also comes with a school, library and a community centre.

On a recent trip to the Philippines with my nieces, we spent some time at the village and brought hundreds of donated good books for the new community library. We also sponsor bright students within the village, helping them attend college.

The new PCF library includes encyclopedias, art books, atlases, children's books, and various reading materials, toys, soft toys and office equipment, including laptops, video camera, CD player and DVDs. The library is proving very useful to both children and adults in the community who feel themselves forunate to be accorded this "luxury".
