During a trip to Bataan, Philippines we dropped by the King's Garden Children's Home. I'd read about the place and its founder Lois Prater, an American lady from Olympia Washington. Lois founded the children's home in 1994 when she was 82! Her three daughters were long grown and she decided to fulfill a childhood calling and become a missionary. Lois sold her home and travelled to the Philippines to be a missionary. Rev. Lois Prater passed away at the age of 100 in 2013.
The King's Garden Children's Home continues with Rev. Lois Prater's good work, providing a Christian homelife for poor, orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected children and those who have experienced a crisis situation in their family. The home helps break the poverty cycle by providing a vocational education and livelihood skills.
We brought snow ("InstaSnow"), some teddies and chocolate bars for the children to enjoy.
Nothing is ever too late. Lois Prater did something at age 82 that was so incredible!
