Bullrun Rally 2009 | 07-20-2009
On 11th July the annual Bullrun US car rally kick-started in New York City displaying some of the world’s most exotic supercars. Soaking in the sun-filled excitement of the crowded convoy, I was eager and ready to go in a beautifully sleek carbon fibre Lamborghini Superleggera.
The Bullrun is an 8-day rolling party with a cast of venturous characters who embark on an epic cross-country road-trip experience. Locations remain a mystery, but Bullrunners can always expect to roll through some fabulous cities. This year the rally finale reached Austin, Texas.

Clearly, the Koenigsigg CCXR was the most impressive of this year’s colourful fleet. This Swedish automotive erotica is the only one of its kind in the USA, achieving 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 259 mph. It costs a very handsome $1.2 million to assemble, and with a retail tag at around $2.2 million it is evidently the most expensive car in the world!
Surely the unexpected bonus is that the Koenigsigg CCXR is dubbed the world’s “first green supercar”. Its monstrous twin-supercharged 4.7-litre V8 powerplant has been modified to run on E85 and E100 Biofuel (rising to 1018 Bhp) as well as 98 octane petrol (806 Bhp).
Seems the future will be fast!
